Un village en plein ciel !
Commune du département du lot, arrondissement de Figeac, diocèse de Cahors, Faycelles a une superficie de 1323 hectares et sa population était de 612 habitants en 2006.
Elle occupe un plateau situé sur les derniers contreforts du Massif Central, à cheval entre 2 rivières : le Lot et son affluent le Célé.
Communes limitrophes au nord : Figeac, à l'est : Capdenac, au sud-est et au sud : Loupiac (Aveyron) Au sud-ouest et au nord-ouest : Frontenac, St Pierre Toirac et Beduer.
Que d'Histoire !
Faycelles, village quercynois, est situé en plein ciel, à 350 m d'altitude, aux confins de l'Aveyron, entre Lot et Célé, à 7 km de Figeac et 14 de Capdenac-Gare. Outre de nombreux hameaux, il inclut deux villages plus importants : La Valade et surtout le Mas du Noyer.
Les premières traces de population remontent assez haut dans la préhistoire : au magdalénien supérieur (13-15000 ans av. J.C.), dans la grotte sise au lieu-dit Les Graves où des gravures rupestres ont été découvertes représentant deux frises de chevaux, un corps de femme sans tête et un auroch...

Le petit patrimoine bâti de Faycelles est riche et varié : caselles typiques, pigeonniers, murets de pierre sèche, calvaires des 18°- 19° siècles.
